Android Architect

Radius’ mission is to help people build stronger relationships with others in their everyday lives. Through our location-based social media app, we give our users the ability to connect with people that are actually around them; whether they’re travelling alone in a new area, at a party, or trying to meet people at work. Our goal is to help grow everyone’s social network as much as we can. 🥳

As a UCLA-based startup, we’re building a close-knit team of talented individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and want their work to have a large impact on the product. They enjoy building strong personal relationships and are passionate about helping others grow.

We’re looking for an Android Architect that is interested in the opportunity to build a robust and highly scalable app from its basic foundations alongside equally driven and talented engineers. This position has flexible hours and would preferably require presence at UCLA, however remote work can be discussed.

Responsibilities

  • Build Android interfaces and infrastructure using Java and Kotlin
  • Establish a testable and scalable app architecture
  • Tweak and optimize existing features to best meet our users’ needs
  • Lead and organize a team of other engineers
  • Interface with designers and product managers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Student currently enrolled at UCLA
  • 2+ years of experience with Java, Kotlin, and Android software development
  • Experience with designing robust and scalable systems
  • Experience with UI/UX and graphic design is a plus
  • Involvement in campus organizations such as student clubs and/or Greek life is a plus
